For bonding resin-based materials to enamel and dentin:
1. Tooth preparation:
Apply Primacid™ (#1) for 10 seconds to
tooth surfaces to be restored, using a
gentle brushing action, and rinse thoroughly.
Remove bulk water using dry cotton
pledgets, leaving the surface slightly
damp.
Note - surface does not have to be be perfectly dry.
2. Priming surfaces:
Apply 2 coats of Primer (#2) to
the surfaces to be restored using a
gentle brushing stroke.
Use a gentle stream of air for 10
seconds to evaporate residual solvent.
Note: The surface should have a shiny appearance after this last step. If not observed, apply another coat and repeat brief exposure of surface to a stream of air.
3. Apply resin:
Using a new disposable Microbrush,
apply a layer of Interfacial Resin™ (#3)
to the surface. After 15 seconds, light
cure (time is dependent on curing light used).
Note 1: Remove pooled resin by using a new applicator and "sponging up" excess resin.
Note 2: Do not apply a high power LED or arc light directly over the surface when curing the resin. Rather, start from a distance that is 3-4 inches away, and come down onto the surface slowly.
Apply a second layer using the residual
resin in the applicator.
Note: Do not cure second layer. Place restorative material - it will cure with the composite.
